In Melbourne, Kim Mitchell and her Swisskiss bernese delivered 12 new baby puppies today!

Mum is Ch Swisskiss Empire Rose 'Dakota' and dad is our Ch Anahera Epic Steam Imp NZ ....our 'Angus'

Boston has been xrayed and his scores have come back 0:0 Hips and 0:0 Elbows, showing perfectly sound joints....YAY BOSTON!!!!!!

Big Thanks to Tanya for raising Boston even though he tries her patience and thinks he is a crash test dummy!!!!!

Extra special mention must got to Lisa at Anahera who bred Boston, he is the second boy she has bred and chosen for us who, as well as being very good looking, has perfect scores (Angus Handsome Pants is the other one) YAY LISA!!!!!!!!

Australian Champion Branbern Darbie Doll (Hayley) has been confirmed pregnant to our Angus Handsome Pants (Australian Champion Anahera Epic Steam Imp NZ).

Puppies are due early November 2008 and will be born and raised at Malicloy Bernese in South Australia by Ben Taylor.

10th September 2008:

We had a great day at the Adelaide Royal Show today with 'Sugar' (Australian Champion Zollikon Sweet Dreams) winning Best Intermediate Bitch and our gorgeous baby house guest 'Ulla' (Zollikon Ooh La La) winning Best Puppy Bitch.

Sugar, Ulla and I had a great day out with old and new friends. Ulla wowed the crowds with her wonderful temperament, cuteness and big berner smile, Sugar was trying to sleep in between pats and show snacks!

Congratulations to our friends Ben with 'Hayley' and Shane with 'Micah' for winning Best Of Breed and Runner Up Best Of Breed.

Sugar wins Best Of Breed and Australian Bred in Group under Mrs Sharron Taylor from Queensland.

Mrs Taylor now breeds Rhodesian Ridgebacks but owned and imported one of the earliest Bernese Mountain Dogs into Australia from New Zealand. Australian Champion Balahu Ready Teddy Imp NZ. (Hassel) in 1982.

Hassel is our Gemma's Great Great Grandfather!

5th May 2008:

I have just been away for 3 weeks to America and Canada to visit the BMDCA National Specialty in Warwick, Rhode Island with Angus and Boston's breeder Lisa from New Zealand.

I was blown away by the quality of Berners in North America!

We were lucky enough to see Sugars half brother Am Can Aust CH Zanzebern Defender win Best Opposite sex in show!!! Best in Show was a gorgeous girl from Canada (Ch Backcountry Hildegarde) and Tanner's half sister Sala (Am Ch Berntiers Dressed To Kill) won the first Award Of Merit!!!!

We met so many kind generous people while we were away and could finally meet email friends from all over the world in the flesh!

The hospitality show by the Canadians and Americans was FANTASTIC and everyone was so kind to us -even when I threw myself at their dogs so I could feel and love a berner because I was missing my dogs and home so much!

Were generally spoilt rotten by all our wonderful old and new friends...THANKYOU from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!

Angus' daughter Ruby (Zollikon The Heat Is On) has her official Hip and Elbow X-ray results... Hips 0:0 Elbows 0:0 ! She has scored perfectly sound just like Angus. Wonderful news for Angus and Magenta and Rubys breeder and owner Emma Sankey.

After winning Reserve Challenge Bitch at Adelaide Royal Show 2007 Sugar has won 2nd place in a large class of lovely Intermediate girls at Melbourne Royal 2007. Sugar was the youngest in the class!

Although Shazza was confirmed pregnant by blood test it appears she has absorbed the puppies and is now not pregnant. What a shame!

14th August 2007:

HUGE Congratulations to Tanner's breeder Mrs Eva Sundell Johansson from Berntiers in Sweden for winning Best in Show BOTH DAYS of the 100 Year Jubilee Show in Burgdorf Switzerland with around 400 entries. What phenomenal wins for Eva and Peggy -Berntiers Front Page!!!!

Angus (CH Anahera Epic Steam Imp NZ) has been bred to sweet Shazza (Zollikon Live N Let Die). Emma from Zollikon in Melbourne loved her last Angus litter so much she decided to repeat the combination with Magentas sister Shazza!

Fingers crossed that she is pregnant, puppies due around mid August 2007.

Huge Congratulations to Angus's litter sister Enza (Anahera Enzian CDX) on earning her Open Obedience title with scores of all 190+!!!!! Way to go MJ and Enza in Canada.

23rd June 2007:

Sugar has again made us proud at a Specialty show!

Under Mrs Anita Whitmarsh (Sweden) Sugar was graded Excellent 1 and awarded first in Junior Bitch Class (a tough class filled with quality young girls) and Best Junior In Show!

Her Critique was: 'Excellent size and bone. Feminine. Well carried head, underdevelopment. Well laid shoulder, excellent rear end. Good ribbing. Well marked, well presented. Typical Bernese junior movement. In good condition. Good temperament'

We had a fantastic day catching up with our interstate friends!

25th April 2007:

Sugar wins Runner Up Best In Group 6 at Murray Valley Kennel Club Open Show under Ms J Gaskell.

Later that day Sugar wins BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP 6 and Junior in Group under Mr I Spangler!

Our beautiful Gemma turns 5 today! Happy Birthday to all the Zeigen 'Q' litter around Australia.

Sugar is an Australian Champion at only 13 months old!!!

A big thankyou to Melita for showing her to her last points while I was at work (and Luke for driving her to the show!), and the rest of 'Team Sugar' (Scott, Ben and Jacqui) for handling her beautifully when I wasn't able to.

19th March 2007:

Angus and Magenta's babies are born! Final count is 5 bouncing boys and 2 gorgeous girls!

12th March 2007:

We had a great weekend catching up with our interstate friends at the BMDCSA Specialty this weekend it was combined with the Pedigree Autumn International so for extra keen showers there were 4 shows in 3 days!

At the Specialty Show the judge was World renowned Bernese specialist Mr Jens Ramsing from Sennettas Kennel in Denmark. Sugar was 2nd in junior bitch class her critique was:

"Well built female of excellent type, just a little long in the body. Good head, a little loose in the lips. Correct bite, brown eyes, good ear set. Good neck, top line, bottom line and angulations. Good coat, colour and markings. Free in movement, parallel in the rear, still not quite stable in the front in the shoulders and pastern. Toes in a little coming in. Good temperament. Grading: Very Good."

For a 12 month old girl we are very pleased with her critique, especially as the 1st place Junior bitch went on to win Bitch Challenge! Sugar was also entered in Brace Class judged by Lisbet Ramsing (Denmark), she was paired with Phoebe (CH. Branbern Saturns Moon) and they won Best Brace Pair YAY! Later in the day in the second show Sugar went Reserve Bitch Challenge under Mr S. Hanaue of Japan.

On Sunday I was lucky enough to borrow and show Zanzebern's new girl from New Zealand 'Alex' NZ CH Alpinstolz Angel Eyes Imp NZ to Best Of Breed under Dr. D Skok of Croatia. Whats even better is that Alex is Angus's cousin and half sister! (They have the same father and their mothers are litter sisters!) Alex has been in Australia only 3 days and has 40 points toward her Australian Championship title...GO ALEX!

This weekend Gemma and Angus got to stay home with Luke and lounge around as they decided to shed their winter coats just in time for the most important show of the year! Three shows in 2 days is enough for us so we went to the beach on Monday : )

Sugar has had her hips and elbows scored we are proud to report she has 1:2 Hips (International Grade A) and 0:0 Elbows. HUGE Congratulations to her breeder Emma Sankey!!!

Sugar and I went on a road trip to Melbourne to attend Melbourne Royal Show and the BMDCV Specialty. Sugar won Puppy of Breed at Melbourne Royal Show (September 29th) under Carla Molinari (Portugal) against stiff competition. 2 Days later she won Opposite Minor Puppy In Show at the BMDCV Open Show under Mr I Clarke (Vic) and Minor Puppy In Show at the BMDCV Championship Show under Breed Specialist Mrs K Haddon (QLD). Sugars brother Clarence (Zollikon Dream Machine) won Puppy In Show at Both Shows!!! This was also the first time Clarrie had been shown!

Angus is now an Australian Champion! We are so proud of our boy.

We have made ourselves a website! I love looking at different dog sites and decided I would try and do one for myself (with the help of my very talented sister).
